2025 Event Trends & Predictions

| , ,

Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event, or AIME, is always a great way to kick start the year. As the region’s largest events exhibition, AIME connects event professionals like us with new and established industry suppliers to encourage collaboration, innovation and get our creative juices flowing. It’s also a great way to keep our finger on the pulse, and stay up to date with the latest industry developments!

Our CEO, Simon and Event Managers Krissy and Lisa attended a few sessions, and weren’t surprised to find new and emerging technologies at the forefront of this year’s event showcase. In fact when we asked the team to reflect on their AIME experience and share their top event trends and predictions for 2025 they quickly agreed:

Event technology is essential, not optional!

Whether you’re using AI to develop efficiencies in your planning and processes, or incorporating the latest gadgets and tools into the event experience, technology will help streamline and elevate both the production and delivery phases of your next event.

At JTPM, we saw this shift toward tech-led events way back in 2020, when the pandemic brought the industry to its knees. While many companies struggled or closed, we focussed on up-skilling, and testing and developing new technologies such as website development, live streaming, video production, and custom online event platforms.

As a result, we still managed to deliver 65 events in 2020 and 143 events in 2021! Seeing the huge benefits of technology, we developed and launched our own event technology platform under our sister company Future Events Lab.

Offering effortless event planning and management, all in one place, five of the most popular Future Events Lab solutions include:

  1. Event app: a customisable browser-based platform that combines all Future Events Lab services
  2. Interactive digital map: making event navigation, finding exhibitors and sessions easier than ever (available in app or as a stand alone feature)
  3. Registration & event check in: customisable forms, integrated ticketing and check-in system
  4. Presenter & speaker management: a dedicated portal to upload and view biographies, headshots and presentation materials, keeping everything organised and accessible
  5. Audience engagement: captivate event attendees with gamification features like points, badges and leaderboards, real-time Q&A, voting and live polls

The best part is that Future Events Lab is hyper-responsive and always evolving. Unlike many one-size-fits all solutions we’re able to add new features and options as our clients request them, or as technology and capabilities emerge. It just keeps getting better!

AIME wasn’t ALL about technology though!

Here’s three more key event trends and predictions from our Management team:

Lisa: Sustainability

Sustainability will take on an even greater priority—not only in terms of venues and suppliers but also in enhancing the attendee experience and providing meaningful takeaways and value-adds.

One example we are already seeing is attendee’s increasing preference towards QR codes and digital content over printouts and pamphlets. Innovation and creativity in this space above and beyond this (new) norm will be a defining factor in attracting and retaining attendees, being note-worthy onsite and standing out as in events moving forward.

Krissy: Flexibility

Events will deliver more creative formats and room set-up options, shifting from the standard two-day conference to offering more flexible and personalised options.

For example: plenary or keynotes sessions will offer mixed seating options. Some people don’t want to sit and are happy to stand in the back. Or there’s that person who knows they have to make a quick exit after 15-mins for a phone call – why not accommodate them and give them more reasons to stay while they can?

Emily: Inclusivity and accessibility

Given the global political climate, inclusivity and accessibility is going to be really important for a lot of our clients. It’s important to ensure our events are safe and welcoming spaces for everyone. This will look like:

  • Offering options for people with accessibility needs, rather than relying on them to tell you in the registration form.
  • Incorporating prayer rooms, parent rooms and low-sensory spaces.
  • Diverse representation in the event programming.
  • Inclusive language and briefing speakers on this.
