Spotlight on: Awards

|

As a multi-award winning company, we know how incredible it feels to be recognised for hard work and excellence. For us, the only thing better than receiving awards, is helping to present awards!

Whether we’re managing the entire program, or just running the presentation night – we support a wide range of awards initiatives and create memorable and enriching experiences for everyone involved – recipients, sponsors, partners and guests or the general public.

Here’s four of our favourite award programs we’ve helped manage and produce this year, with insights from our Event Coordinators, Hayley and Victoria:

1. Western Chances Scholarship Awards Ceremony

26 March – The Edge, Federation Square

JTPM is proud to be the official pro bono events partner for Western Chances. This annual event welcomes new scholarship recipients from Melbourne’s West and Geelong and celebrates their academic excellence and achievements.

The ceremony also features performances and presentations from current and past recipients, including our Director, Julia Truong who is a passionate advocate, speaker and MC, as a past scholarship recipient and Western Chances Alumni and Ambassador.

Each year, JTPM delivers over 400 hours and $55,000 AUD in event services to Western Chances across several events, which means more scholarships for disadvantaged young people.

“I love all the different projects we work on, making such a great impact on our community, however Western Chances is an incredible NFP organisation that I’m proud to work with. It’s wonderful to highlight these incredible young people and showcase the amazing opportunities Western Chances is able to provide. A real highlight for me!”

2. Telstra Macedon Ranges Community Choice Awards

21 Feb – 17 June 2025

The Telstra Macedon Ranges Community Choice Awards recognise local businesses that display excellence in customer service across five categories: Agribusiness and Primary Production, Health and Wellbeing, Hospitality and Accommodation, Professional, Retail and Service, and Trades and Manufacturing.

Nominations opened in February and were followed by a public voting period, before the winners were announced in June. Selected from 67 local business nominations, the 2025 winners are:

  • Riddells Creek Nursery: nursery and garden centre focussed on sustainability and caring for the environment
  • Macedon Ranges Aqua Aerobics: provider of women’s-only, body-positive water based exercise classes.
  • Josh’s Rainbow Eggs: producer of environmentally sustainable and ethical free range eggs
  • Woodend Cellar & Bar: cellar door & wine store specialising in promoting local Macedon Ranges wines and winemakers
  • Magnum Signs: custom signage experts with a focus on customer service and satisfaction

“Travelling across the Macedon Ranges Shire and meeting these lovely businesses who are dedicated to customer service and their work has been so inspiring.”

3. Ricci Marks Awards Ceremony 2025

February 2025

The Ricci Marks Awards recognise the individual achievements of young (16-25) First Nations people living in Victoria, in areas such as training, education, arts, sports, culture and community leadership. The Awards program is run by First People’s – State Relations, the department responsible for the Victorian Government’s work in the areas of cultural rights, self-determination, treaty and truth telling.

In addition to the award ceremony, this year’s celebration also featured a headline performance from Papua New Guinea born, now Naarm-based artist Kaiit and a dance performance from the Yuloo Dance Group – a traditional Aboriginal Dance Group made up of girls and boys aged from two to 20 based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.

“It was an honour to work with First People’s – State Relations to recognise outstanding young First Nations people and the amazing impact they’ve had in their communities. The entertainment was a massive highlight too!”

4. Northern Business Achievement Awards (NBAA)

6 March, 5 June, 4 September & 4 December 2025

The Northern Business Achievement Awards (NBAA) are a partnership of industry, education, local and state government, and decision makers across Melbourne’s north. The annual program recognises and celebrates the achievements of small to medium-sized enterprises in Melbourne’s northern region and is delivered over a series of four networking breakfast events held throughout the year.

Each breakfast attracts around 200 attendees from across the region’s businesses, and features keynote speakers such as Caroline Carnegie, Managing Director at Melbourne Victory Football Club and Pat McCafferty, Managing Director of Yarra Valley Water.

At each breakfast, two Business Nominees and the Young Business Achievers are nominated from each of the northern municipalities: Banyule, Darebin, Hume, Merri-bek, Nillumbik and Whittlesea. The overall winners are then announced at the fourth breakfast, The Grand Finale, held each December.

“It’s great to see JTPM values come to life in a room full of like-minded business people, listening to them speak so highly about each other and seeing how well connected they have become through our events.”

– Victoria Robinson
